Chris always had a knack for bringing people together—whether it was a backyard barbecue, a pick-up volleyball game, or a friendly trivia night. But his true passion for food was sparked one evening when he stumbled across a YouTube video about making sourdough from scratch. Intrigued by the challenge, he dove headfirst into the world of flour, water, and wild yeast.

What started as a hobby quickly grew into an obsession. Chris spent countless evenings perfecting his starter (137 year old starter), experimenting with dough hydration, and chasing that elusive balance of crispy crust and chewy bite. His family became the official taste-testers, cheering him on with every new batch. Soon, friends and neighbors in League City and Alvin caught wind of the homemade pizzas coming out of Chris’s kitchen, and his house became the go-to spot for great food and good times.

Inspired by the joy these gatherings brought, Chris and his family dreamed bigger. They wanted to create a place where everyone—from families with kids to volleyball teams and trivia buffs—could come together over incredible pizza and a lively atmosphere. That dream became The Bing: a family-owned sports bar and pizzeria where hand-tossed sourdough pizza is the star of the menu.

Today, every pizza at The Bing is made with Chris’s original sourdough recipe—a testament to his dedication and love for community. With sand volleyball courts, shuffleboard, darts, and a full bar, The Bing is more than just a restaurant. It’s a hub for connection, laughter, and, of course, the best pizza in League City and Alvin.
